A Classical dance tradition nurtured in the ancient temples of South India, Bharata Natyam is aid to have divine origins. This dance from is a fusion of two prime elements: Nritta (pure dance without interpretive meaning) and Nritya (lyrical dance that interprets poetry). By weaving these elements together, the dancer enacts dramas (natya) from the Hindu epics,encompassing the range of human emotions.
